I have been teaching SAT for a long time. I began back in college in 1999 for a major test preparation provider. I continued working there throughout graduate school. In 2018, when my son entered 8th grade, I began offering classes in my home to prepare him and his friends for the 8/9 PSAT. Class Structure
Classes are 4 hours in length. There are two levels: Advancing and Advanced Advancing: Every class, we take a Verbal or Math section from Blue Book and review it. Taking the test consumes about 1.25 hours of class time. The remainder of the 4 hours is spent reviewing questions missed and strategies. Class Philosophy
I strive to build classes that are more than teaching SAT. I want to build confidence and community. Classes are extremely interactive and encourage students to participate in the learning actively. I don't teach from a book but rather practice tests. So each class we are taking a test and reviewing it, reviewing strategies as we look at real questions on Blue Book. Students are more engaged because they WANT to know why they missed certain questions and are seeking strategie
